Made from beach glass, ceramic shards, pebbles, sterling silver and gold.
The beach glass selected for this work comes from the lovely beaches for which Martha's Vineyard is famous. Zack's, Menemsha Bight, Cape Pogue, Lambert's Cove, State Beach, Chappie, Quansoo, South Beach, Lake Tashmoo, Menemsha, Squibnocket, Gay Head, Devil's Bridge, Lobsterville, Eastville, and Katama. Amy has walked them all in her daily search for special prizes like red and cobalt blue glass (very rare). She uses the glass as it was found, shaped and polished by the action of sand, wind, and wave. Backed or open sterling silver bezels are chosen for the aesthetics of each work and skillfully fitted to each piece. Each creation is harmoniously thought out with its own special plan. Naturally, each and every piece is unique..
Is the key to your heart really your type?
Amy is particularly adept at combining the precious with the common to create jewelry that rekindles memories of special people, places, and moments. Here, vintage typewriter keys and sterling silver can be combined in endless creative new ways to convey that very special message. Each and every piece will be like no other. Talk to Amy about any particular keys that might be meaningful for you. Amy enjoys working along with folks using their own special keepsakes and found objects. Allow time for special orders.
When is such a common item as a guitar pick, really something special? That might depend on what it looks like, who made it, who used it, or when or where it was used, or what is printed on it. Amy's use of fancy, unique, and souvenir guitar picks is indicative of her special talent as a creative artist.
